Cascading Fall
Cathy Cunningham-Little’s spite specific glass installation transforms light, color, and shadow in San Antonio’s King William neighborhood
The installation features an exterior wall of dichroic glass pieces arranged in successive rows on stainless steel rods. These glass elements respond to shifts in wind and the changing angles of the sun, casting prismatic colors, shadows, and rippling light patterns onto the surrounding surfaces. The result is a continuously evolving visual experience that transforms with the natural elements, creating a “caustic” effect reminiscent of moving water.
Cathy Cunningham-Little is known for her masterful use of light, glass, and reflections to explore perception and change. Her work invites viewers to slow down and engage with the subtle shifts in their environment, blending art with natural phenomena. She has exhibited widely and is recognized for her innovative approaches to public and private art projects.
